Question Weird things going on with samba

Hey i got samba working today and i just tested it and everything went great untill i shared my MP3 partition, first i tried sharing my /home folder and that went great we could exchange files without a problem (my syster's pc is running windows 2000) then i shared my mp3 partition /mnt/win_d, i can see it on my sister's pc and i can double click it but then he asks me a user and pass, i tried every pass and user i know but i still can't get in the folder. Does anyone knows how i fix this problem?

Thx in advance
Stijn,

Is your mp3 directory shared as a public folder or one specific to a particular user?

Either way...Ensure that the user you are logging into samba as has permission to access the mp3 directory...

chmod 755 <mp3 dir>

chmod 755 <mp3 dir>

That didn't do the trick but i had to add some lines, i'll show what i putted in smb.conf

[mp3]
comment = /mnt/win_e
path = /mnt/win_e
guest ok = Yes
wide links = No

[Home mapje]
comment = /home/stijn
path = /home/stijn
guest ok = Yes
wide links = No

[liekes]
comment = /mnt/win_d
path = /mnt/win_d
guest ok = Yes
wide links = No

[Overig (F)]
comment = /mnt/win_c
path = /mnt/win_c
guest ok = Yes
wide links = No

Once i added those last two lines it seemed to work fine.
