Weird refresh problem...

i am running Suse 9.2 Professional. I have a weird problem. If i save a file to my Desktop, it does not show on the desktop.. But if I open a file manager and navigate to /home/myk/Desktop, the file is there...

How can i fix this minor annoyance? Refreshing the desktop doesnt work to make the file show..

got it fixed. Open up Yast and be sure that all 3 FAM packages are installed. "fam server" is not installed by default, so this needs to be installed. Finally, go into the control center-->Yast Modules-->Runlevel Editor.. Make sure that FAM is enabled. Reboot. Problem solved (so far)

Thank you for posting your solution. That was most generous.

I noticed this problem the other day, but didn't have enough time to really figure out what was going on (and probably wouldn't have anyway.)

If you notice additional problems with this, I would like to hear about it.

Good day, and thanks again!
