Weird issue with Cedega and Steam...

I have Steam and all the games working properly but there is one strange issue. The FPS in the games are always stuck fluxuating at 59 and 60. The counter never goes above 60 and never below 59. Does anyone know how I can fix this? Thanks a lot.

Note: I also get exactly 60 FPS all the time in glxgears, yet a few days ago I was getting ~11,000.

What's wrong with 60 fps? That would seem like a rather nice rate as its double human eye perception...

Rembmer not to fix things that arent broken...

60 may be ok for a full-screen game, but for glxgears it's pretty low.... does the glxgears number stay the same after restarting X? have you checked the logs for anything unusual?

Yeah, 60 FPS in glxgears is messed up. But just yesterday I played CS with 71 FPS constant. I'll try restarting.

Actually, I can tell the difference between 60 and 100 FPS in CS. I know it's slower than in Windows (99-100).

Also, I tried restarting and that made glxgears go back up to about 500 FPS. I don't get it, I was running at 9000-11000 FPS only a few days ago. Though I think it was before I switched back to the 2.4.26 kernel from 2.6.7.

I just tried this again and now the FPS is stuck at 71 again but the frmaes are skipping a lot. It's not even playable. What should I do?

"Actually, I can tell the difference between 60 and 100 FPS in CS."

That's nice since your eyes only see 30...

That's fine, I still can. You must have never played a game at two different sets of frames per second before. It is definitely noticeable regardless of what anyone says.

Now I didn't ask this question to start this FPS flame war that has been fought so many time before. I only came seeking help.
