weird httpd problem !!!

I been trying to setup webpage and was always running httpd in debug mode httpd -k start -e debug until I got it running so after that I restarted the server in normal mode by changing chkconfig httpd on and restarted the server and the httpd ran without a problem but now it is not showing the webpage that was shown in debug mode but shows something else. I tried to debug so I started the httpd in debug mode and again it showed the right webpage without me doing anything so can anybody give me any idea what I should do ? Thank you for you idea.

EDIT: I have found that running with only httpd -k start will also give the required result but not with service httpd start why ?

Hi,

From your other thread, looks like that when you run "httpd ..." you run the compiled from source apache that uses /usr/local/apache/htdocs as docroot.
When you use the "service httpd ..." you're using the apache that was installed by your distro, with /var/www/html as docroot.

Regards

bathory thank you for your deep will to solve the problem, people like you makes linux what it is today. I have installed this httpd in CentOS 6.2 platform and only running default httpd but have copied only the /etc/httpd/conf/* file from the other CentOS 6.2. I am not running Solaris on this server. So there is not any other httpd installed.

So you say that you've installed the apache using the package that comes with Centos, and not one compiled by you?
What exactly do you see when starting apache using "service httpd start"? Also what gives
Code:
which httpd
