Weird GMPlayer problem

Now, I normally use mplayer in the CLI, but hey skins are cool, so I like to play around in GMPlayer and I have a good time, its great. However one thing really pisses me off. Whenever I open another window within mplayer (like the preferences window, or the open file dialogue box etc.) its always waaaaaaaaayyyyyyyy behind everything, and I usually have a lot of windows open so finding it is a chore. Is there any way to make it always pop up in the front? (I've tried changing it manually from the dropdown menu on each window, but the next time i open it, it reverts to its old setting of Desktop) Anyone?

From my experience it always pops up in the front. Wouldn't help to open up preferences and have the window open behind the player... You just have too much shit open everywhere.

Might I suggest using your virtual desktops? Or perhaps setting your desktop GUI of choice to put all newly opened windows at the forfront. It's not an gmplayer issue as you are stating it.
