Weird Firefox behavior when using google.translate.com
Hello all, I came across a weird issue with Firefox on my laptop. Specs are as follows:
Code:
Fedora 13, 64 bit
Linux ltp01 2.6.34.8-68.fc13.x86_64 #1 SMP Thu Feb 17 15:03:58 UTC 2011 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
Mozilla Firefox 3.6.17, Copyright (c) 1998 - 2011 mozilla.org
Whenever I try to use google translate, see the screenshot for what happens. It's kind of hard to describe by typing of the issue. Does any one know why it would be doing this? Please note that it does this regardless of what web page I visit...
Thanks!
Josh

But thats the thing man, google translate doesn't work, and that is all it does. And I only try to navigate one page, and it still does it. Any ideas what could be causing this? I disabled all of my plugins and still no go...

is no-script allowing the page ?
and is 'Ad block plus ' allowing all on the page ?
if so check FF's own built in script controls .

I just mentioned that I have already disabled all plugins. And what do you mean my the built in script controls?

I only seen that sort of thing when I use the scroll wheel before a page is fully loaded.

Well I'm on my laptop, I do have the side scroll though. Doesn't help if I don't even touch my mouse. Still the same thing...

have you thought of installing fedora 14 -- seeing as in 33 days fedora 13 hits End Of Life
also googletranslate uses javasript
under edit/preferences
then the "content " tab is "enable java script" checked
also what java is installed ??
fedora's "ice tea" opensource java ? or oracle's java ?
what one is the link in /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins pointing to
it should be the one in the "alternatives" folder

I know it's been a bit for this thread, but just a partial update....
I have gotten nowhere with this. I disabled all of my plugins again, enabled javascript, and still the same thing. My next step is to just install the latest version of firefox; I am very limited with time and bandwidth, being deployed, so the upgrade to Fedora 15 is out of the question for now.
Cheers,
Josh
