Weird Error for Skype Fedora 16

Hi guys,

I have just started using fedora 16 and tried installing skype, but I keep getting this error:

Failed to execute child process "skype" (no input/output)

When typing it into the command line I get:

bash: /usr/bin/skype: Input/output error

I have looked through google, but the only solution I am able to find are those for:

Failed to execute child process (No such file or directory)

I tried those solutions and none of those are working, I have all the 32-bit libs that I know installed from all the websites that have told me to do so. Thank you for the help!

I have tried to run it both through the Main menu and I tried to see if any other warnings came up by trying to running it in the terminal.

Ok. How did you install it, and if so, what installation procedure did you follow? If you did, could you kindly point to the URL of it?

I was unable to figure out the reason to what happened but I found a solution.

I originally installed skype without taking much consideration with getting 32-bit libraries. So I installed the 32-bit libraries after I installed skype. This must have been the problem, so I removed all the 32-bit libs and skype, Reinstalled the 32-bit libraries, then skype.

Thankfully after all of that it proceeded to work.

I found the installation instructions that corp769 wanted from the following URL: http://blog.linux4us.org/2011/11/13/...dora-16-64bit/

Ahh ok, you fixed it then. I was going to go along with that pretty much, but you figured it out, so it's all good. Cheers on fixing it!
