Webmin in RH8 S-L-O-W!!

A few weeks ago, I had RH 8.0 with the latest Webmin running and it was very slow. I just blamed it on the computer. For various reasons, I loaded Slackware 8.1 and FreeBSD 4.7 and 5.0 with the same version of Webmin. It blazed through every screen! I have not been able to get my printer (Brother HL-1440) setup in anything other than RedHat so I loaded it back on. I'm having a very difficult time with the slowness of Webmin now that I know what it's capable of.

I've seen other newsgroups asks this question, but I've never seen an answer for confirmation of any type of resolution. Has anyone noticed this and or fixed this? With RedHat I have a few more applications load but the exact same daemons running as the previous versions.

Any help would be appreciated.

I don't have any answers for you but mine runs slow as well on several boxes (all running RH and Gentoo) and being that these are the only boxes I've ever used it on I just thought it was the coding or the application itself so I'll keep watch here and see if you or I get an answer that I can use as well.

Well, I did the obvious and added my IP address in the hosts file. It helped speed it up quite a bit, but it's still noticably slower that other distributions that I have tried. I think it's bearable now. I was waiting upto 75 seconds before, now it's just about 5-10 seconds. Like I said before both FreeBSD and Slackware were "click, done, click done, click, done".
