Webmail and Imap problem

I get the following error while trying to log on to Webmail, any ideas

Warning: fsockopen(): php_network_getaddresses: getaddrinfo failed: Name or service not known in /usr/share/squirrelmail/functions/imap_general.php on line 227

Do you have an IMAP server running?

Did you configure squirrelmail?
