Arrow webcam on gyache


hi i am using slackware 10.0 and shorewall 2.0 and gyache 1.0.5...wheni was using fedora core i was able to transmit my web cam images using the same friewalland the messenger....
however with the above distribution i am facing a problem..the chat friend gets my web cam ..i give him the permission to view myc am..but my images do not turn up..only the friend sees a blank screen....
i tried to test my web cam using xcam but i only get a still picture..however when i test my locally using gyach webcam utility i am able to see a motion picture...
does any1 has any idea how to rectify this problem
