webalizer error

I've got libpng, jpeg and gd installed and used the following to configure webalizer...

./configure --with-gd=/usr/local/lib/libgd.so.2 --with-zlib

Sorry, half my post got cut off...

So I used the following to configure webalizer...
./configure --with-gd=/usr/local/lib/libgd.so.2 --with-zlib --with-png

I've tried running the webalizer command, but it errors...
webalizer: error while loading shared libraries: libgd.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

I've also tried running ldconfig -v, but that seems to only look in /lib and /usr/lib and not in /usr/local/lib.

Any idea how I can get webalizer working?
