Question Webalizer

I was able to get this program to work but I had to change the folder from 'usage' to 'hits'. Here is what I did and I would like someone to explain to me why it wouldn't work under the folder 'usage' (I changed the webalizer.conf in the /etc folder to point to /var/www/html/hits/index.html)

I had this installed on FC1, it was working great. I upgraded to FC2 and I would get...
FORBIDDEN: YOU DO NOT HAVE ACCESS TO THE FOLDER USAGE.
I changed the permissions to that folder and every file in that folder to 777 and it still didn't work. I change the owner to my user id and that didn't work. If I copy the contents out of usage and put them in any other folder that I created, it would work, such as the folder 'hits'

One other thing, the folder usage was under /var/www and I copied it to /var/www/html and I was still unable to access the index.html page in that folder.

Can anyone explain to me why I am unable to access the usage folder? Like I said, I have it working but this is bugging me!

Thanks

Why did you have to change it? I guess I always use the saying if it ain't broke don't fix it. Is the document root for your web server /var/www/html/ or something else. Maybe try changing the folder owner to the apache user. I have had great luck using webalizer but I have never had to move it. Sorry I am not much help.

Later,
Kevin
