Web server timing out half the time and it's live!
 

Hey there team,

I've got a serious problem with my live website and it's generating a lot of complaints

Here is my website

The site is running the following software:

Apache
PHP
MySQL
PHPBB2


This is the problem

Sometimes when you load a page it times out and when you refresh it starts working!?

I currently use the PHPBB2 session management system


These are things I think it could possible be

1: A problem with the Apache server?.. I have no idea what... it's almost the default install apart from some virtual domains.

2: A problem with my router not forwarding packets?...

3: A problem with PHP and the PHPBB session management? I seriously hope not!


A few things that may be relivant

There are other sites running off the same server which experience the same problems... although they don't use PHPBB2 they do however use PHP

....

I've been looking through logs... can't see anything yet


Anyone have ANY suggestions?!

on what hardware does the site reside and what sort of internet connection does the server have? i dont think its a software issue.

I'm on wired country (ppp0e)

It's sitting on an old 1 ghz AMD with loads of RAM

:(

Okay I admit it's not very special

We're looking at external hosting next week
