Web-Server Software...

Hey all...

I'am very new to linux... but the first impression is amazing..:-)
Can anyone tell me wich Web-Server/Client Software I can use
and where I can get it..?

I would like to set up a Proxy, Firewall, etc and use the Linux Server
to manage multiple Internet Access acounts and Email
With all type of access statistics and possibilities to restrict /allow/deny certain pages, accesses, and so on to a group of users...
With a Front-End for Configuration and/or Statistics....

Thanks a lot

Regards
Paulo

Welcome to LQ :)

Looks like you might wanna look at something like:
www.apache.org
With a admin tool like:
www.webmin.com

You can likely bet you'll need (for the stats bit) some:
www.mysql.com
And possible a full fledged:
http://freshmeat.net/redir/acid/1702...ourceforge.net
Setup which is very nice.

There is yet another solution, this one is all in one and very nice and EXTREMELY easy to setup:
www.demarc.com
The personal edition of Pure-Secure is great at monitoring stats, securing the box and running a webserver, all in one.
