web email
Hello,
is there a package included in RedHat 9.0 that bring sendmail server email to a https client... if not any suggestions Thanks |
You will need a server to provide the e-mails to the webclient. snemail will only receive/send mail. I would sugggest using IMAP and squirrelmail for the web interface.

can i use the same server ...
|
You can use the same physical server as in "the same machine" but you will need additional server software.
|
MoreGroupWare is also a nice web client with calendaring etc built in but it uses a lot of javascript ans so it doesn't work with all browsers.
|
do you think 1 can use imaps ...
|
I can't see why not. RH 9 comes with UW IMAP. I have only used courier but squirrelmail can support both.
Just install the imap server from the redhat cd or download it here: ftp://fr2.rpmfind.net/linux/redhat/9...1a-18.i386.rpm then run: rpm -ivh imap-2001a-18.i386.rpm Make the server start on boot then start it immediately: chkconfig imapd on service imap start You can then download squirrelmail and configure it as neccessary (use the perl script conf.pl and you can set it to use the default options for a particular imap server): http://www.squirrelmail.org |
