Web Document/Project Management System

Hi,

I am working as Technical Manager in a mid-size company and we are thinking about to set up a new document and project management system. The system should be accessible by using a web interface, as our consultants are usually out of office.

I had a look at hosted Microsoft SharePoint services, but would rather prefer a Linux based solution.

Does anybody has experience with online portals like that?

Wiki's are a good tool for this. TWiki is one I'm personally using for an online colaboration tool right now. [ with control over who has access to the wiki, a large [ 4 million members ] online community has supplied only 15 people that have access ]

There are also php scripted Project Management Groupware options, though the two I looked at were useless.

The CMS options, "Portal" scripts aren't really appropriate for a controlled access system, which I'm assuming you want.
