Question Web based password management system

Anyone knows a good or at least working web based password management system could hosted in-house?
A pal of mine needs something like this and I can't find anything.

As far I now this is to "log" all passwords for a lot of Linux servers instead of manually do that
in like a spreadsheet.

What he really have there are several distinct tasks. Password management, Inventory management, and Issue Tracking. Between those 3 he will cover just about everything he needs.

I personally think the phrase "web-passed password management" is an oxymoron. If it's web-passed, it's inherently insecure or at the least multiplies the security issues.

I have heard LastPass mentioned favorably but I have no direct knowledge of it.

He might look at an password safe such as KeePassX. It's cross-platform and the databases are portable.

LastPass rocks!

I've used it for years. All seamlessly across many Firefox updates|versions and over more than just one OS.

Just sign-in using your user@email.com and your password and all your site "data" is magically available to that session. Any computer, anywhere that has a GUI and FF.

Secure Notes too.

Device42 might work for him. We use it for centralized password management, inventory tracking and other stuff like Data center and IP management. It does not do issue tracking.
