I need software that will organize images into a gallery. My users will have only web access to this, and will not be very tech-savvy. So it shouldn't have confusing options, should generate thumbnails automatically, should allow them to add comments to their pictures, and should provide an easy interface. Something like ofoto.com.

I would also like end-user viewing access (my users' friends) to be by Digest authentication. My users should be able to say, "Anyone with this email address can see these pictures (but that doesn't mean they can add pictures of their own)." And of course these people should only have access to their friends' (my users') pictures, not to other people's.

Everything I've seen either requires people to have ftp access, or gives them too many options that'll confuse them, or isn't an easy interface to view, or does nothing about this kind of authentication.

Any suggestions?
