Weather Images on Desktop

Does anyone know of a way to automatically replace the desktop image with an image served from a web site?

I'm interested in making my desktop contain the latest weather image and have it update every 15 minutes or so.

On windows it's really each because it is built into the active desktop. I'm running Red Hat 9 and I think that I need to run a cron job to get the image and store it locally then have the desktop reset itself. I'm not sure what to use to get the image or how to make the desktop reset itself.

Any information would be appreciated. Also, it would be nice if the desktop could contain multiple images and had the ability to position them. This way I could put the satellite image of the U.S. and watch that hurricane and the radar map from my state.

i am using fluxbox so that is how i am going to write this.

auto (cronjob) d/l the image to the same file and have it write over the old one.

i would then call on bsetbg with cron and change the bg every x minutes. <= this would depend on how often you d/l the image.
if you are using kde or gnome or some other WM i am not sure of the command to change the bg via cli.
make sure that you run the cron to change the bg as your username. now i am not sure that this will work but you can try it.
