.wav header utility

Hi all.

Does anyone know of a utility which can change the attributes of a .wav file's headers?

The problem I have is that when recording via a digital input on my sound card, all audio is flagged as being 48kHz, regardless of the actual sample rate of the source (usually 44.1kHz). This results in audio playing too fast when played back.

I can import into Audacity, and change the sample rate there without resampling, but the import and export takes a considerable amount of time, and all that needs changed is a 4 digit hex value near the start of the file.

Cheers.

Dave
