Watching QuickTime files on my Acer Aspire 1 running Linpus.

Could anyone please help me make this work? I have tried all sorts of websites with 'clear' instructions but just seem to be getting something wrong.

I am desperate and fly to meetings at the end of this week so MUST have it working.

If you could give me a number or SKYPE to call you on... I need to be talked through it. I would be eternally grateful. Very grateful indeed.

If your running linux, install MPlayer http://www.mplayerhq.hu , with the codecs, and a skin, and MPlayer-Plugin (try google.) I've never seen anything MPlayer won't play.

You could also install VLC..

here are directions for installing VLC on Linpus Lite.

Look at Page 4 of this article for directions.. ..

You may need to do some of the earlier items in the article to get there though.. such as enabling the advanced menus, etc..

Try to install Wine, and then install quicktime.
to install wine type the command :

sudo yum install wine

then download quicktime to /tmp :

wget http://howto.landure.fr/gnu-linux/in...ller-6-5-2.exe \
--output-document=/tmp/quicktimefullinstaller-6-5-2.exe

after run install, type the command :

wine /tmp/quicktimefullinstaller-6-5-2.exe

the post you saind about quicktime using wine works great to me particular pourpose I need to see a DVR over the internet and it run´s over rtsp protocol only supported by quicktime
