Question Wanting Firefox to Save Passwords Again

Hi. Whenever I log into a site for the first time I always tell Firefox to save my password. This is very convenient. Along time ago, however, when I first started using this feature I sometimes clicked "Never save the password for this site" and consequently some of the sites which I most frequently visit still need me to manually input the password.

How can I tell Firefox I want it to save the passwords for these sites now? I cleared everything in the "Preferences >> Security >> Exceptions" menu but that did not fix the problem. I don't want to just delete my profile because I have about a years worth of passwords and bookmarks and whatnot that I don't want to redo.

Weird. I'd have thought that the steps you have taken, would have fixed the issue.

Dumb question #1: have you restarted the browser?

Question #2 -- are you using the "Master Password" extension? I use that, and it asks me if yes/no to save the password.

If it comes down to wanting to try to delete your profile and see if that fixes the problem, then first install FEBE extension, and use that to backup all (I mean ALL) your settings & bookmarks before deleting stuff. FEBE is great. You can re-import everything piece by piece from the FEBE backup later if need be, including passwords, bookmarks, etc.

Best of luck.

I think you have to remove everything to do with the site(s) in qn ie that also includes cookies etc. IOW, make it as if you had never been there.
