Wanted: Realplayer 8 dpkg
Any idea where I can get hold of a deb file for Realplayer8? Having had no luck getting streaming audio working with my USB speakers with Realplayer 10, the pulseaudio site tells me that this is do-able with realplayer 8
I very much doubt that Xine or VLC will work embedded. If you're using anything other than Real Player you will probably have to use the "Listen using stand-alone Real Player" link.
Here's my setup. Firefox 2.0.0.11. Realplayer(10.0.9) is installed along with it's Mozilla/Netscape plugin. Mplayerplug-in for Firefox is built without realmedia support, just to keep things simple. No Win32 codecs installed.
I've made it function by using the "Use Windows Media Player" option and linking it to VLC, but it would be nice to know how to play imbedded Real Player files
When I click on this link it starts playing immediately (http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/aod/radio4.shtml?fm)
I think your FF configuration is messed up, probably something else besides Realplayer is set to handle realmedia. Type about:plugins into your address bar and tap Enter, you'll see your plugins configuration.
