Want to install Windows VISTA on top of Opensuse

Hi all,

Got OpenSuse 1.3 installed. The GRUB seems to be there but it is just a "flash". Don't see it long enough to choose anything.

Where can I find info on installing Windows VISTA so that it is accessible from GRUB?

You can change the waiting time in /boot/grub/menu.lst

It's the "timeout" option, eg. timeout=5 means that it'll wait 5 seconds before it boots into the default option.

the vista entry in menu.lst can be as follows:
title Vista
rootnoverify (hd0,0)
chainloader +1
That is correct as long as vista is installed on the first partition of the first hd = (hd0,0). Installing windows on further partitions
might be if not impossible, then definitely more difficult - I don't actually know.

Greetings once more. It seems as though OpenSuse 1.3 does not clobber Windows Vista (if it is already there)- however, I doubt seriously if the opposite is true. I have about 500GB. The partitions created by HP are still there - but - it allocated a good amount of space to the Linux side of the house (with 2GB for swap). The partions for Windows are a little bigger than I want but I think I can live with it.

So, I am good to go.

Thanks much!
