vsftpd umask not working

Hi there,
I'm trying to make files uploaded though vsftpd have 0775
permissions on the server.
An equivalent to wu-ftpds "defumask 0002" if you want.

only seems to for for newly created files and dirs
on the server, not for uploaded ones.

is supposed to set permissions on uploaded files according to the manual.
I tried this option with several different perms but to no avail.
It doesn't seem to have any effect whatsoever
Any file that I upload keeps the permissions that it had on the client.

Can anybody help me out here?

Hi K-bot,
Here is what I have found. If you are using Virtual users, then their permissions are set according to the anon account (anon_umask). If you want the Virtual users to have separate permissions, then add 'virtual_use_local_privs=YES' in the vsftpd.conf file.

Hope this helps,
