Question Vsftpd Error

I am using Suse 10 and I am trying to get the FTP server running but I get the following error message when logging into the FTP server
"500 OOPS: cannot open config file:/etc/vsftpd.conf" do I need to CHMOD this file to something?

Thanks

Never got one of those before but:

1. Is the file there?
2. try 'chmod 777' on it and see if that helps
3. chown the file to the same username that is running vsftpd.
4. Look at the logs and see if it you see anything

Those are just a couple of suggestions.
