vsftpd

I want to set vsftpd to only allow users which are in the file /etc/vsftpd/user-list but i cant get it to work.

This is a part of my vsftpd.conf:

userlist_deny=NO
userlist_enable=YES
userlist_file=/etc/vsftpd/user-list
anonymous_enable=NO
local_enable=YES

What kind of error are you getting?

pk21 11-27-2002 08:26 AM

No errors :(

When i put a user in /etc/vsftpd/user-list then the user is accepted as it should.
ut when i dont set a user in the user-list then it gets also accepted, which shouldnt happen.

This looks fine, it's what I have.

I doubt it matters but try removing the user_list entry altogether and use the default list with one username per line.

/etc/vsftpd.user_list

Tnx for replying, but i already tryed that.
It is really strange because with the older versions of vsftpd it works but with this version( vsftpd-1.1.1-fr1 ) it doesnt

I was using 1.1.1 and just upgraded to 1.1.3 (for no real reason)

Might be worth the upgrade.

good luck.
