VSFTP ERROR: 426 Failure reading network stream.

Sometimes, the FTP error below appears when transferring a backup from one storageX (client) to another storageY (server).

Error: FTP response: Client "<ip>", "426 Failure reading network stream."

FTP software client: lftp version 4.7.2
Operational System in client: Slackware 14.2 x86_64 kernel 4.4.14

FTP software server: vsftpd version 3.0.2
Operational System in server: Slackware 14.1 Kernel 3.10.17

According to my boss, the cabling is new. But as I said, the error happens on average four to four days.

Does it have to do with infra, firewall, settings or client and server version?

"Maybe" is the only answer we can give you. You don't say anything about the firewall(s), settings, amount of data, how you're connecting, etc., etc. Too many variables to guess at. Have you done *ANY* troubleshooting? Looked at the logs? Ran any sniffer traces? Not a lot we can tell you with next to no details.

There are lots of ideas here. Did you look?
