vncserver problem
Hi!
I'm running vncserver on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4.0.
I have a problem when I open 250+ applications accessing vncserver it throws an error:
Xlib: connection to ":2.0" refused by server
Xlib: Maximum number of clients reached
Please help me on solving that issue. I need to launch at aproximately 500 applications but actualy at this time it can manage only 265.
Regards,
Andrejs

Are you opening a separte connection(VNC session) for each app?

Well you could try opening multiple sesions (from the same machine) to bypass the issue.
It might also help to know what types of things you are running. You MAY be able to write a script(server side) that opens a lot of the apps but is seen as one app (the script) by VNC's counter. Purely a guess as I have never had to open over a few apps at any one time(over VNC).

That was my point. Split the users up over several sessions. Each individual session can open 255(roughly) processes. If you need 500 then open two sessions, if 750 then open three, etc. Otherwise I think you will have to completely rewrite VNC to use two(0-255) rather than just one(probably a lot of work).
