vnc server with java for connecting with web browser

What can I do to get this working? I am trying to have vnc setup to use java, so I can connect to it from a webbrowser with java. It works fine in windows.

Code:
chris@ubuntu:~/.vnc$ ls
passwd  xstartup
chris@ubuntu:~/.vnc$ vncserver
Found /usr/share/vnc-java for http connections.

New 'ubuntu:1 (chris)' desktop is ubuntu:1

Starting applications specified in /home/chris/.vnc/xstartup
Log file is /home/chris/.vnc/ubuntu:1.log

chris@ubuntu:~/.vnc$ cat ubuntu\:1.log

Could not connect to remote server

You tried to access the address http://127.0.0.1:5801/, which is currently unavailable. Please make sure that the Web address (URL) is correctly spelled and punctuated, then try reloading the page.
Make sure your Internet connection is active and check whether other applications that rely on the same connection are working.
Check that the setup of any Internet security software is correct and does not interfere with ordinary Web browsing.
If you are behind a firewall on a Local Area Network and think this may be causing problems, talk to your systems administrator.
Try pressing the F12 key on your keyboard and disabling proxy servers, unless you know that you are required to use a proxy to connect to the Internet. Reload the page.
Need help?
Open the Opera Help.
Go to Opera's on-line support desk.

I do not have a fonts directory. This is what I have:

chris@ubuntu:~$ ls -l /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/
total 4
drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 4096 2005-12-30 03:15 icons
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 23 2005-12-30 03:14 locale -> ../../../lib/X11/locale
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 16 2005-12-30 03:14 rgb.txt -> /etc/X11/rgb.txt
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 12 2005-12-30 03:14 xkb -> /etc/X11/xkb
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 16 2005-12-30 03:14 xserver -> /etc/X11/xserver
chris@ubuntu:~$

chris@ubuntu:~/.vnc$ sudo apt-get install xfonts-base xfonts-cyrillic xfonts-100dpi* xfonts-75dpi* xfonts-scalable
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree... Done
xfonts-base is already the newest version.
Package xfonts-cyrillic is not available, but is referred to by another package.This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or
is only available from another source
E: Package xfonts-cyrillic has no installation candidate
chris@ubuntu:~/.vnc$
