VNC connect to?

OK so I have the VNC GUI that comes stock on Ubuntu and FC3...It turns your computer into a host for people to connect and use the "Remote Desktop" ...

Questions here: What command do I do to get another computer to connect to the host? Is there another GUI that goes with this so I can connect? What port does VNC use 22 like SSH?

I'm slowly converting my friends to Linux...a few of them need help with updates and sound. VNC would be a big help if someone could answer those questions for me.

Thanks!

Got to www.tightvnc.com for windoze and linux clients. Also, look on the KDE menus for Desktop Sharing (krdc)

vnc uses port 5900 udp (and up if you need more than one connection per machine)

VNC by default uses 590x where x is your display number - see:
netstat -nlp

You can use any standard vncviewer to connect to a host. If you have also installed the java server then you can also use a java enabled web browser to connect to:
http://your.ip.or.hostname:580x
