VNC - Allow or Refuse Question
Does anybody know how to turn off this feature on vncserver?

As far as I know you can't. It's a security feature for the end user so that people can't watch what they're doing without their consent. Depending on which country you're in, unless you're in a corporate environment where the users have agreed to something like this, it's not a good idea.
Even when you turn off password prompts in (for example) tightvnc under Windows, the VNC service icon changes colour so the user knows they're being monitored. |
In VNC for Winblows there is a Checkbox with the option:
Prompt local user to accept incoming connections. I am pretty sure that there must be an equivalent in Linux... Check the vncconfig. |
By the way I should have included this info:
The VNC server is FC5 And its Windows on the client side running RealVNC Well I ran vncpasswd and created a password...I am just not sure for which user! I deduced that if there was a password for VNC it wouldnt prompt like that. Perhaps I should use a differant proggie on the windows side. It really is anoying..I was hoping my Linux instructor would be able to show me a few things via vnc...now somebody has to hit the allow button...and I'll be at school! I suppose ssh will suffice. But I'm a GUI man dammit! Yeah thats right...I said it!!!!! :D |
i seem to remember vino (a vnc like server app) has a similar tickbox. I use it on my headless fileserver, obviously its no good if i cant see the dialogue box to ok it :)

I know this is possible because on VNC configuration for Ubuntu (via System > Preferences > Remote Desktop) there is a check box whether or not to prompt for permission, along with password options and access options.
