VMware Workstation Virtual Machine Transfering Problems...

Hi,

I've made a Windows XP Pro virtual machine on my FC2 box and I want to transfer some files across to the virtual machine but I cant seem to get a network happening.. Does anyone have a setup by setup guide or and easier why to get files to a virtual machine? Rembering this is virtual, I know how to make a network when 2 PC's are involved ;)

Thanks

EG

In order to share files across 2 OS's, you need to have VMware Workstation 4.5.xxx. Here are some tips:
1) When creating a Virtual Machine, use Custom as much as possible.
2) For your network connection, either use Bridged or NAT. When using Bridged, the guest OS is given direct access to an external network. With NAT, it access the host's dial-up or external network.
3) After creating a virtual machine, edit its settings.
4) Click the "Options" tab, then go to "Shared folders". Choose which directory you want shared (e.g. /home/username/), and give it a name.
5) When you have the guest OS running, make sure that VMware tools are installed.
6) Go to Windows Explorer, right-click on "My Network Places" and select "Map Network Drive".
7) Choose which drive you want to map it with, then click "Browse".
8) From there, you'll see the "VMware Shared Folders" and just select which one you want to map.

HTH.

Thanks for that, Working now :P. I've got a couple more questions for you now though:

1. Whenever I try to switch to Full Screen I get this error "Error opening Direct Graphics" or something, You know why?

2. Is there anyway I can make my Virtual XP Pro machine get the stats of my Radeon Graphics Card so I can play games on it?

Haven't tried doing full-screen that's why I haven't encountered that type of error yet. As for your graphics card, I'm sorry but I'm not that familiar with it since I'm really not a gamer myself.

Sorry.
