I have recently installed the latest version of VMware Server on my Fedora 8 box which is working great - but I have just tried to install the web management interface which looked like it installed o.k.

But when I open a web browser and try and access it by http:server:904 it then hangs for a minute or so and I then receive the following error message

It doesn't give me the option to enter a user name or password - I'm quite new to Linux so I'd be really grateful if anyone could offer some suggestions on what I'm doing wrong

Did you try:

http: //server:8222 ?

I believe what you're trying to do is supposed to be done from the VMC.
