vmware VI client and linux shows different memory usage

Hi.

We're running RHEL clients on VmWare ESX servers, and I've noticed that the memory usage reported by the VmWare VI client (i.e. the vmware console) and linux itself differs. While the linux box reports that all of its memory is in use (including buffers and cache), the VI client reports only 20-30% memory usage. Does anyone know why this is so?

Regards,
kenneho
