VMWare server runs slow on Linux

Hi! I've tried installing installing kqemu to make qemu faster. But I've given up. I just can't resolve the error I got. Anyway, I've used VMWare Server which I downloaded from the VMWare website. It seems okay on the first install and it runs like the native. However after the boot up, it became extremely slow. Any idea why is this happening? I really need to have windows inside Linux since I am still developing applications in VB. I will be migrating everything to Gambas but I need to make my applications work now. I hate dual-booting and I think virtualization is the closest solution. I prefer VMWare (if only I can fix the speed issue). The kqemu is just a pain to install for a newbie like me.

Just posted a reply in your "Got error in compiling kqemu with qemu" thread if you're still willing to resolve your issues.

How about VMWare? Do you have any idea how to fix it? It runs slow than usual.

Hi! I followed the link from the How-to on how to install VMWare Server in

http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...te=1&p=2216050

However, after I typed in vmware-config.pl I get the following:

Building the vmmon module.

There is probably a slight difference in the kernel configuration between the
set of C header files you specified and your running kernel. You may want to
rebuild a kernel based on that directory, or specify another directory.

For more information on how to troubleshoot module-related problems, please
visit our Web site at "http://www.vmware.com/download/modules/modules.html" and
"http://www.vmware.com/support/reference/linux/prebuilt_modules_linux.html".

Execution aborted.

I can't seem to make the qemu and kqemu work and I also can't install VMWare Server. What am I going to do now? I really need to virtualize another OS..Please help me.

Let's see if we can make Qemu work first before abandoning that ship, OK?
