vmware.rar extracting and installing

Hi I have a vmware package in ".rar" archive I am using Slackware 10, how should I extract and install vmware workstation?

I downloaded beta version "unrar" but I wasn't able to do so.

Could anyone please tell me how should I go about extracting and installing this .rar package.

Thanks!

Where did you obtain that? Vmware usually offers two types for vmware workstation on their site last I checked. They were rpm and tgz.

I got it through a virtual medium, if you can tell me how to unzip and install any usual ".rar" archive in Slackware I would appreciate it.

If unrar was unable to extract it then the file is probably corrupted. You could grab a tarball from vmware's site and tar -zxvf. Problem solved.

I am totally aware of that man, but once I extract one thing I get few more archived packages.
I am unable to find the "install" file which will install this emulator.

If you have a .rar of VMware you obviously obtained a pirated version probably off some w4r3z k1dd13 irc channel.

It's not a question of dumb or not. We've thought of and answered all possible answers. Your version is not official, that's a fact Get the real .tgz and you will have no problem.
