Hi and thanks for reading this. I updated to mandrake 10.2rc2 which has a 2.6.11 kernel. ( I think its hardware support and stability kicks ass) however when installing vmware 4.5.2 i had a few problems. First off was no group/user/owner had exicutable privlages to any vmware objects. I was able to fix that but when running the vmware-config.pl file i ran into my second problem. Here is the output -
Building the vmmon module.

I know that this means the module failed to build for my kernel but i dont know what i can do about it. help aprecated. thanks
You need to install the kernel source on to your computer. It is usually found on your install disk or you may be able to download it somewhere.
Find out where ris is downloaded to and imput its address when prompted on install.
Its funny. I had just Done that, installed w/ the any-any90 patch, and it worked so i decided to come back and post the solution. But you beat me to it. lol. Thanks,
matt
