vmware in xp with redhat 8.0 guest

I'm having issues with VMWare getting the redhat 8.0 guest to recognize the virtual network on my xp host. When loading, redhat fails while trying to load eth0. I have the networking enabled for the virtual system, but linux doesn't seem to recognize it.

In Windows XP
disable firewall. Also try to setup VMware with a power user.

In Windows XP turn off all the effects that it does.

BTW, why are you running VMware in Windows. I can see running VMware in LINUX and trying to run your favorite windows programs. Windows especally Windows XP is very, very, very bloated. Windows only gives 60% of the processor to the user. The rest is for lousy windows.
