im trying to run VMware based Win2000 on my Fedora Core 5 box and was wondering if someone could explain how to attempt this. most of the stuff i saw online dint make too much sense sadly
chill mate, im sorry i dint add details. i wasnt asking for ppl to write howto's, i was asking if someone knows of any howto's.
ive installed the server and the player versions 1.0.0.28343 and have no idea how to proceed. i cant find any entrys in my menus and overall i am lost any advice on how to get the program running even would be nice.

Well lets see if I can help you a bit. One reason you might have a problem if it won't start is you can't have botht he player and vmware itself run on the same system. The point of the player is for you to share an image with another or use it on another system, both without having to worry about a lic to use vmware itself. To start vmware from a console or say in kde from the K menu run command type vmware. That will start it up and you can then get into the help files and set it up with it infront of you or browse for the help files on your system and look at them in your favorite web browser.
