vmware help

the only reason i have vmware installed, is so that i can use my parallel port, and the ONLY thing that doesnt work is the damned parallel port itself, no matter how many times i reconfigure it, or if i reboot, it ALWAYS tells me that /dev/parport0 is used by another program (such as another instance of VMWare Workstation) or driver (such as lp). Virtual device parallel0 will start disconnected

why do you need vmware to use the parallel port?

i use it to use a program called jEEPers, its to program a dish card..havent found any linux equivalent so i need vmware for it
