VMware Destroys Suse 10.1

I installed vmware on suse 10.1. I then executed the .pl file and when it was compiling a kernel module --- it froze up completely, the mouse wouldn't move and I couldn't switch to a terminal. The konsole window had not changed for 1/2 and hour, and I held down the power button until it turned off.

When I booted it back up it was really slow, and the X server froze with the X mouse, and still wouldn't switch to a terminal.

The apache and samba servers which start at boot were not present on the network.

I don't think theres anything to do but remove all my files and reinstall Suse. Tell me if theres anything to do like modifying the files (I have live cds)

Nvm, the partition table broke. Bunch of bad inodes and stuff, and the hard drive is fine. This happened almost immediatly on a second install too. I've used both qtparted and the OS installs partitioner. What could cause repeated bad inodes?
