No idea why I expect something to simply
work just because I follow directions.
Aaanyway, I get this in the terminal window when I type "joe@host1:vmware"

then, if I go to "https://127.0.0.1:8333" or "...:8333/ui" or use my assigned ip address, I get "503 Service Unavailable".
I could use some help here, as I haven't the foggiest idea where to go from here (now that I've spent hours googling these messages).
