VLC - Only commandline?

I just installed VLC on Gentoo, and I can't run it in anything but the command line! It's weird. I've never used VLC, so if you could tell me how to run it, please let me know. It's the KMenu under Multimedia, but it doesn't actually run. It just starts. There are no arguments that kde runs it with. Please help.

Thanks,
-Peter

The GUI for VLC is optional. Most likely you're missing a USE flag that would have built it. It uses WxGTK, if that helps to find it.

For future reference, I found the use flags and a howto for Gentoo here.

Thanks,

Hmm... more trouble. I can't get the skins to work. I run vlc -I skins2, and try to find skins in the preferences, but I can't. Any ideas?

Thanks,
-Peter
