VLC installation

I'm using Suse 9.0 and trying to install VLC.

I got the source code, and untar it.

When I do the ./configure

I have an error msg like this :

checking ffmpeg/avcodec.h usability... no
checking ffmpeg/avcodec.h presence... no
checking for ffmpeg/avcodec.h... no
configure: error: Missing header file ffmpeg/avcodec.h.

I think that the header file is missing in the source code. Has anyone encounter this error before ? How to deal with it ? (Don't suggest me to use binary pkgs).

Tks for your reply before hand.

Please do not post the same thread in more than one forum. Picking the most relevant forum and posting it once there makes it easier for other members to help you and keeps the discussion all in one place.
