If you have paid for your RHEL 6 then you can ask the support staff. If you haven't paid for RHEL then you'd be better off using CentOS.

well a fast google search of vlc RHEL gave the first link as follows:

https://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-redhat.html

so very very very very hard to find.... *grins*

also as you are informed if you are using a paid server, user the paid server. if you are stealing RHEL and working it without paying for it, then you need to start paying for it, or switch to CentOS or ScientificLinux.

the VERY OLD !!!
VLC 1 is in the rpmforge repo
using this repo might null and void the $299 USD contract you bought

there is also the linuxtech repo that has the VLC 2.0
but this also might null and void the $299 USD contract you bought

contact redhat
you bought the required support contract so use the tech support that comes with it

or

install the FREE rebuild of RHEL
CentOS 6.4

the fedora rpms for vlc will NOT work on RHEL6
do not even try to install any of the fedora rpm's

You can install a fairly old but reliable version of VLC from Rpmforge
