VLC 2.0 and mono sound

Hello guys!
There was mono option (on the fly) in VLC v1.x. After update to v2.0 I can't find it anywhere. CLI options don't seem to have one either. Is it completely gone?

I'm having the same bloody problem. I remember being able to solve it before somehow but then I updated again and now I am lost again. I don't know why they make it so obscure. It used to be so easy to do before.

Thats an option that i miss in the recent versions. Sometimes you run across interesting video, either in mono or just badly recorded, that will only come out of one channel. It would be nice to have the mono option available again.

I hadn't noticed, but you are right; the mono option is gone.
I have been a big fan of VLC for years, but just last week when VLC wouldn't work properly in PC-BSD, I tried SMPLayer and was very impressed. It is a very well thought out front end to MPlayer and still has the 'on the fly' mono option. Just FYI.
