VirtualBox 5.0.4 fails on Linux kernel 3.19.0-30

I'm using 64 bit Ubuntu 14.04.3, along with VirtualBox 5.0.4. Two days ago, an automatic update moved Ubuntu from Linux kernel 3.19.0-28 to 3.19.0-30 and the VirtualBox GUI manager no longer runs. I went back to kernel 3.19.0-28 and all is well again, but has anyone else experienced this?

I did let Ubuntu send a crash report, and I posted a note to the Oracle VirtualBox site.

If anyone knows of a "fix" for this, I'd like to know, since sticking with an earlier kernel probably isn't a great long-term solution.

Thanks.

Something like dkms I'd think. Don't have that right off the top of my head but check it maybe. https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Linux_Downloads

SOLVED: VirtualBox 5.0.4 fails on Linux kernel 3.19.0-30

Problem solved:

Two things: dkms not installed by default in Ubuntu 14.04.3, and a bug in VirtualBox 5.0.4.

Details can be found in the following thread on the Oracle VirtualBox forum:
