How much did you spend on MS's product? Sounds worthless to me if it can't emulate a PC properly. (as I recall, MS was peddling the product, saying you could run any MS OS on it - knowing Microsoft and their history, as I've used non-MS OSes in the past on PCs, namely OS/2, Microsoft probably built their VirtualPC to cause problems with Linux and other non-MS OSes. MS's history is full of examples where they do things to trip up the competition or make it difficult for their products to run under Windows.)
Just a thought or two. Maybe MS's product really is reliable and the Linux distro is crummy... but somehow I don't see that being the case. I'd get a refund if I were you and try out VMware, though I'd rather try a third option if one was available... (vmware, at least under Linux, isn't always reliable...)
