Hi,
I had installed Fedora 12 on my Dell desktop. On that Linux I installed Windows using VMware player 3.1.1. Now suddenly my windows has gone corrupt.
It says, "The image urlmon.dll is possibly corrput. The header checksum does not match the computed checksum". with blue screen.
I had only one partition of 20GB in windows as virtual HDD. Can i recover my documents on the Desktop of the windows.
Thanks
Hiren's boot cd has lot's of tools on it including 1 that is for blue screen of death.
If your machine is windows you can use miniwinsxp, it will mount it.
You'll be able to retrieve data. Although if you transfer to new machine it may infect it.
Within minixp is a hbcd menu icon, browse thru and there are different tools anti-virus and so on.
These tools are run from boot.
If it's a linux machine your options are different and you have to wait for further help.
... Can i recover my documents on the Desktop of the windows.
Thanks
This is done similar as on a real machine. You may download an isoimage of any Linuxdistribution, mount this image in VMware and boot with the image instead with Windows. Now you can access your Dokuments of the virtual Windowsmachine and copy them to the linux-host (you'll have to share any directory of your Linuxhost with the virtual machine).
